What problem does it solve?

This Skill enables dynamic and engaging visual experiences in Decentraland by providing tools to animate objects, characters, and scene elements over time.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • GLTF Animations: Play animations embedded directly within 3D models (.glb files) using the Animator component. Ideal for character movements or pre-defined object actions.
  • Code-Based Tweens: Create smooth, programmatic animations for position, rotation, and scaling using the Tween component. Perfect for moving platforms, rotating objects, or scaling UI elements.
  • Chained Animations: Sequence multiple tweens together using TweenSequence for complex, multi-step animations like a door opening and then sliding.
  • Use Case: Make a decorative statue in your scene slowly rotate, have a platform move between two points, and trigger a character's walk animation when a player approaches.

Quick Start

Use the animations-tweens skill to make the entity named 'myBox' move from position (2,1,8) to (14,1,8) over 2000 milliseconds using an ease-in-out sine function.
