What problem does it solve?

Use this skill to quickly identify the structure and characteristics of a WordPress repository (plugin/theme/block/theme/WP core/Gutenberg) and produce a structured JSON report that guides workflows and safety guardrails.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Detects project kind (plugin, theme, Gutenberg, WP core) and ownership signals (headers, WP-CLI usage, dependencies).
  • Outputs a JSON report detailing project kind, tooling presence, signals, and recommended actions for development and deployment.
  • Use Case: Run this in a WP repo to determine what tooling to enable (lint/test/run) and which guardrails to apply before making changes.

Quick Start

Run the detector to produce a JSON report:

  • node skills/wp-project-triage/scripts/detect_wp_project.mjs
  • For the exact report schema, consult references/triage.schema.json
