What problem does it solve?
This Skill helps organizations align their team structures with their strategic landscape by applying Wardley's Pioneers, Settlers, and Town Planners (PST) model to a strategy map. It clarifies which components belong to which team archetype and analyzes the organizational implications.
Core Features & Use Cases
- PST Classification: Assigns each component on a strategy map to the Pioneer, Settler, or Town Planner archetype based on its evolution stage.
- Team Topology Analysis: Identifies bounding boxes for each PST zone, highlights cross-zone dependencies as inter-team interfaces, and flags evolve arrows crossing zones as future handoffs.
- Organizational Insights: Provides analysis on component distribution, zone profiles, handoff points, hiring priorities, and pipeline implications.
- Use Case: After creating a strategy map for a new product, use this Skill to understand which teams (Pioneers for R&D, Settlers for product development, Town Planners for operations) should own different parts of the product's lifecycle.
