What problem does it solve?
Wikidata-search enables researchers and data practitioners to locate Wikidata items or properties and retrieve their structured data, including labels, descriptions, claims, and external identifiers, for analysis and integration.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Search items & properties via wbsearchentities (label/alias/description).
- Fetch full entity data with wbgetentities to access claims, sitelinks, and identifiers.
- Explore and extract identifiers using get_claims/wikidata API wrappers and vector/semantic search via the Wikidata Vector DB; supports SPARQL queries and direct entity JSON retrieval.
- Use Case: researchers can quickly assemble a dataset of notable figures with their VIAF/ISNI and Wikipedia links for humanities projects.
Quick Start
Query Wikidata for a term (e.g., Albert Einstein) and retrieve the entity's labels, descriptions, and external identifiers.
