What problem does it solve?

Webledgers provides a standardized, portable way to map any URI to a numerical balance so teams and systems can query and reconcile balances across heterogeneous platforms without building custom integrations.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Universal Identifiers: Use URIs (https, mailto, tel, bitcoin, did:nostr, urn, etc.) as canonical keys for balances.
  • Flexible Amounts: Support for single-string default-currency amounts and multi-currency arrays for complex use cases.
  • CLI + API: Interactive CLI workflows for create/add/balance/validate/merge and a JavaScript API for programmatic ledger creation, loading, and validation.
  • Validation & Safety: Built-in validation with errors and warnings, URI normalization (urn:local: prefixing), and well-known RFC 5785 location conventions for discoverability.

Quick Start

Use the webledgers CLI to create a ledger, add an entry, and run validation on the resulting JSON-LD ledger.
