What problem does it solve?

The ribbon trail helps visually convey weapon movement by rendering a dynamic trail behind a moving weapon, enhancing feedback and aesthetics during combat sequences.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Ring-buffer based position history to store trail samples efficiently
  • Proper UVs and gradient textures to achieve fade-out along the trail
  • World-space position capture using localToWorld for accurate motion
  • Easy enable/disable with fade-out behavior to match attack timing
  • Use with a weapon model to create visually striking real-time trails in games and demos

Quick Start

Attach a Trail component to the weapon group, pass the initial trail points, and toggle enabled when the weapon is used to render the ribbon trail.
