What problem does it solve?
This skill provides a fast, reliable way to capture thoughts, ideas, or notes into the vault inbox, preventing ideas from slipping away.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Timestamped capture: automatically creates notes with date and time in the 00_Inbox folder.
- Trigger-based entry: supports quick entry via phrases like capture to vault, quick note, add to inbox, or remember this.
- Voice memo support: optional transcription script to convert audio memos into searchable text stored in the inbox, with PARA structure for organization.
Quick Start
- Set your vault location with the VAULTAGE_PATH environment variable, for example export VAULTAGE_PATH="$HOME/Documents/Vaultage".
- Trigger a capture using a phrase such as capture to vault or quick note; a timestamped file will be created in 00_Inbox under your Vaultage path.
- (Optional) Use the transcription script for voice memos at $VAULTAGE_PATH/.scripts/transcribe-voice-memo.sh; ensure ffmpeg and jq are installed if you enable transcription.
