SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

It helps you quickly locate relevant information inside your personal Obsidian vault and turn that information into actionable outputs like directly-read notes and up-to-date task backlogs.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Search notes by filename or content: Use /vault search <query> to find matches by file name first, then fall back to a content scan across Markdown notes.
  • Read the most relevant note without summarizing: Use /vault read <topic> to retrieve a best match using topic-based filename search, then content search with deterministic preference order (system-cards before knowledge, etc.).
  • Append tasks to the correct backlog: Use /vault task <title> to add a checkbox task to the latest weekly backlog.md for work, or to 0_inbox/0.inbox.md for personal tasks.
  • Browse architecture system cards: Use /vault card <topic> to retrieve system cards from 5_modal/system-cards/ by filename first, then content search.

Quick Start

Ask: /vault task <your task title> to add a checkbox task to your vault backlog (work by default, personal when explicitly specified).

FAQPage Schema
How do I search for specific text inside my Obsidian vault?▼

To retrieve Obsidian notes, the system searches vault filenames first, then falls back to a content scan across Markdown notes, prioritizing system-cards over general knowledge notes.

How do I add a task to my weekly backlog in Markdown notes?▼

You can append a checkbox task to the latest weekly backlog.md file for work tasks, or route personal tasks directly to the 0_inbox/0.inbox.md file in your vault.

Does this vault search approach read the full note or just summarize it?▼

The vault read function retrieves the most relevant full Markdown note without summarizing, using a deterministic preference order to rank system-cards before general knowledge files.

Can I browse architecture system cards stored in my Obsidian vault?▼

Yes, you can retrieve architecture system cards from the 5_modal/system-cards/ directory by searching filenames first, then falling back to a content search if no match is found.

What is needed to set up a vault search and task tracking workflow?▼

You need an existing Obsidian vault located under the ~/vault base path, containing Markdown notes and weekly backlog files to enable Glob matching, Grep search, and Write/Edit operations.
