What problem does it solve? When a task claims to be finished, someone must prove it against its definition of done rather than trusting the implementer's assertion. This Skill discharges a task's done certificate by collecting the evidence each obligation names, running its checks, and deriving an evidence-based verdict. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Certificate Discharge: Opens a task's authored done certificate, collects the named evidence for each obligation (file reads, test runs, execution traces), and sets each status to SATISFIED, UNSATISFIED, or UNVERIFIED. - Regression Tracing: Traces each named downstream caller to confirm PRESERVED behavior or flag a REGRESSION before deriving the verdict. - DoD Fallback: When no certificate exists, derives obligations directly from the task's Definition of done checklist and validates them the same way. - Use Case: After spec-builder implements a task and semi-formal review passes, run this completeness gate to confirm the implementation satisfies every definition-of-done item before marking the task Done. ## Quick Start Validate task 04 against its done certificate and tell me whether it is DONE, PARTIAL, or NOT_DONE.

FAQPage Schema
How do I validate a task against its definition of done?▼

Open the task's done certificate, collect the evidence each obligation names (file reads, test runs, traces), set each status to SATISFIED, UNSATISFIED, or UNVERIFIED, then derive a DONE, PARTIAL, or NOT_DONE verdict from the rubric. Never mark SATISFIED without evidence in hand.

What is the difference between semi-formal review and done certificate validation?▼

Semi-formal review asks whether the code is correct and returns CORRECT through BUGGY verdicts. Done certificate validation asks whether the code satisfies what done means, returning DONE, PARTIAL, or NOT_DONE. A task is complete only when review passes and validation returns DONE.

Can I validate a task that has no done certificate?▼

Yes. When a task has a Definition of done checklist but no certificate, each checklist item becomes an obligation and is discharged the same way, with results recorded inline. If neither exists, flag it as a plan defect rather than passing by default.

Why should the validator be a different agent than the implementer?▼

An agent that grades its own work re-asserts its own assumptions instead of testing them. The certificate author writes the questions, the implementer writes the code, and a separate validator supplies the answers against the real implementation.

What happens when evidence for an obligation cannot be produced?▼

The obligation is marked UNVERIFIED, never SATISFIED by assumption. Any UNVERIFIED obligation yields a PARTIAL verdict rather than DONE, and the next step such as re-dispatch is decided by the orchestrating workflow.
