tui-validate
OfficialValidate TUI outputs with semantic accuracy.
System Documentation
What problem does it solve?
Terminal User Interfaces (TUIs) are often hard to validate with brittle text checks. This skill enables automated, semantic validation of TUI output by capturing the UI with freeze (and optionally tmux or direct commands) and evaluating it with an LLM-based judge to ensure layout correctness and content presence.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Semantic validation of TUI layouts, content presence, and visual hierarchy
- Supports file, command, tmux, and buffer targets for flexible testing
- Generates both visual captures (SVG/PNG) and textual representations for robust analysis
- Useful for regression testing of dashboards, status screens, and editor-like TUIs
Quick Start
Use the tui-validate skill to verify a TUI's header and layout in a sample run. Prepare a test target (a captured file, a live tmux session, or a command) and run the validator with criteria configured to Ralph-style header/footer checks.
