This skill helps Hermes users send and receive SMS/MMS and place phone calls without requiring changes to Hermes core tools.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Twilio number provisioning & persistence: Buy and remember an owned Twilio number across sessions using ~/.hermes/.env and ~/.hermes/telephony_state.json.
  • SMS/MMS messaging + inbox polling: Send messages from the owned number and retrieve inbound messages later via REST polling (no webhook server required).
  • Outbound calling (direct + AI-driven): Place Twilio direct calls using TwiML (<Say> / <Play>), or run AI outbound calls through Bland.ai or Vapi (including importing the Twilio number into Vapi).

Quick Start

Configure Twilio and place a test call by running: "save-twilio your_account_sid your_auth_token_here, then twilio-call +15551230000 --message 'Hello from Hermes'".
