SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Keyword grouping based on text similarity or stemming often produces content architectures that fight each other in search results. This Skill clusters keywords by actual Google SERP overlap, so each page targets a distinct intent and the whole cluster builds topical authority instead of cannibalizing itself. ## Core Features & Use Cases - SERP-Overlap Clustering: Expands a seed keyword into 30-50 variants, then groups them by shared top-10 organic results using defined overlap thresholds (7-10 merge, 4-6 same cluster, 2-3 interlink, 0-1 separate). - Hub-and-Spoke Architecture: Designs a pillar page (2,500-4,000 words) plus 2-5 spoke clusters with intent-matched templates, word count targets, and cannibalization checks. - Internal Link Matrix & Execution: Generates a JSON link adjacency list, structured context blocks for content-generation pipelines, backward-link injection, resume support, and a post-execution scorecard with quality gates. - Use Case: Give it the seed keyword "crm software" and receive a cluster-plan.json with a pillar page, 8-12 spoke posts, intent classifications, a full internal link matrix, and ready-to-write content briefs. ## Quick Start Run the seo-cluster skill with the seed keyword "email marketing software" to produce a clustered content plan and link matrix.

FAQPage Schema
How do I cluster keywords for SEO content planning?▼

Cluster keywords by comparing their Google top-10 organic results: keywords sharing 7+ URLs merge into one page, 4-6 belong to the same cluster, and 0-1 need separate clusters. This SERP-overlap method reflects how Google actually groups intent, unlike text-similarity grouping.

What is a hub-and-spoke content cluster?▼

A hub-and-spoke cluster has one pillar page (2,500-4,000 words) covering a broad topic, linked bidirectionally to 2-5 spoke clusters of 2-4 deep-dive posts each. Every spoke links to the pillar and to 2-3 sibling spokes, with no orphan pages.

Why not group keywords by text similarity or stemming?▼

Text-similar keywords can have completely different SERPs and intents, for example "dog training tips" versus "dog training classes". Grouping by stemming or similarity causes keyword cannibalization, where multiple pages compete for the same rankings.

Can I use an existing keyword list instead of seed expansion?▼

Yes. If you already have a keyword spreadsheet or strategy document, the Skill parses it and uses those keywords as the starting set, skipping the seed-expansion step that normally generates 30-50 variants from related searches and People Also Ask data.

What happens if SERP data is unavailable or rate-limited?▼

The Skill retries after about 30 seconds, and if search remains unavailable it falls back to intent-only clustering with an explicit warning. A dedicated SERP-data API such as DataForSEO is preferred for consistency when available.

How does the cluster scorecard detect content problems?▼

The scorecard measures coverage, link density, orphan pages, cannibalization, pillar connectivity, and content gaps against fixed targets. Any failing gate is flagged with a specific remediation step, such as naming the exact post that needs a link to the pillar.
