To generate LaTeX methodology and experiments sections, the agent drafts missing manuscript parts by extracting numeric metrics from experimental logs into booktabs tables and integrating verified citations from refs.bib in a single multimodal LLM call.

Compiling a complete LaTeX paper from an existing intro and related work is handled by template-safe merging, which preserves the filled intro_relwork.tex verbatim while appending drafted Abstract, Methodology, Experiments, and Conclusion sections into a final paper.tex file.

To prevent citation errors and hallucinated data during paper writing, the agent applies deterministic validation gates including strict citation-key resolution against refs.bib, grounded metric extraction from logs, and post-generation anti-leakage checks.

Integrating figures into LaTeX sections without multiple LLM calls is supported by a single comprehensive multimodal drafting pass that processes workspace figures, experimental logs, and citations together to produce the final manuscript.

The paper section drafting process requires a workspace containing outline.json, intro_relwork.tex, experimental_log.md, figures, and refs.bib to execute the writing-and-gate flow and produce the compiled draft.

If a citation key in the LaTeX draft does not match refs.bib, the deterministic validation gate flags the orphaned citation during the post-generation sanity check, preventing the manuscript from finalizing with unresolved references.
