What problem does it solve?
This Skill helps petroleum engineers analyze historical production data to forecast future well performance and estimate reserves, crucial for economic evaluations and field development planning.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Decline Curve Analysis (DCA): Implements Arps models (exponential, hyperbolic, harmonic) to fit historical production data and predict future rates.
- EUR Estimation: Calculates Estimated Ultimate Recovery (EUR) using various methods, including terminal decline rate switches and abandonment cutoffs.
- Rate Transient Analysis (RTA): Includes tools for flowing material balance (FMB) to estimate Original Gas/Oil In Place (OGIP/OOIP) from transient flow data.
- Use Case: A user can input historical monthly production data for a shale gas well and receive a forecast of future production, an estimated EUR, and an OGIP estimate based on flowing material balance.
Quick Start
Use the rta-production skill to forecast production for a well with an initial rate of 5000 Mscf/day, an initial decline of 1.5/yr, a b-factor of 1.3, and an abandonment rate of 100 Mscf/day for the next 60 months.
