What problem does it solve?

Eliminates manual brief creation and tracking by automating the generation of templated brief files (bugs, features, migrations, technical debt) so teams have consistent metadata, IDs, and a clear starting point for work.

Core Features & Use Cases

• Argument parsing and type selection: Accepts a brief type and title, prompts for type when omitted, and maps types to standard prefixes (BR, MG, TD, etc.).
• Sequential ID assignment: Scans ai/briefs/ to find the next available numeric ID for the selected prefix and creates a slugged filename.
• Template-driven brief creation: Reads the appropriate ai/briefs/{PREFIX}-TEMPLATE.md (with fallback) and populates fields like Status, Priority, Created date, and Title.
• Optional brain sync and blocker handling: Adds P0/P1 items to session BLOCKERS.md and calls the igris_brief_sync MCP when available, while failing silently if the brain is unreachable.
• Use case: Quickly register a reproducible bug brief or new feature ticket from inside a project without leaving the development environment.

Use the register skill to create a new bug brief by invoking /register bug "Title of the bug".
