What problem does it solve?

This Skill lets you quickly find and retrieve experimental 3D protein structures and associated metadata from the RCSB Protein Data Bank, removing the need for manual web searches and manual entry inspection.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Keyword and text search: Find PDB entries using simple free-text queries (protein name, ligand, or keyword).
  • Advanced filtered queries: Search by gene name, organism, and experimental method to narrow results to X-ray, cryo-EM, or NMR structures.
  • Entry inspection and download: Retrieve entry metadata (method, resolution, ligands, title) and download PDB files for local analysis or visualization.
  • Use case: Locate recent human cryo-EM structures for a receptor, compare reported resolutions, and download selected PDB files for binding-site analysis.

Quick Start

Ask the query-pdb skill to search for "human ACE2" with method "ELECTRON MICROSCOPY" and return the top five PDB entries.
