What problem does it solve?

This Skill automates PR-based validation for Aspire by downloading the Aspire CLI from a pull request's dogfood artifacts, verifying it matches the PR commit, and executing scenario-based tests to confirm changes are correct and non-regressive.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • PR-based CLI dogfooding: Fetch and install the Aspire CLI artifact from a PR's build and verify alignment with the PR head commit.
  • PR change analysis: Inspect changed files and categorize modifications (CLI, Hosting, Dashboard, Templates, Clients, Tests) to tailor test scenarios.
  • Scenario generation & execution: Generate targeted test scenarios for the modified areas and execute them in isolated, temp Aspire projects.
  • Validation artifacts: Produce version reports, run logs, and a consolidated test summary for PR review.

Quick Start

Use this skill to test a specific pull request by providing the PR number or URL. The agent will fetch the dogfood CLI, install it, verify the PR head commit, analyze changes, generate test scenarios, and run them in fresh Aspire projects.
