SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? It gives you read-only access to Polymarket prediction market data—market odds, prices, orderbooks, and history—without needing authentication, API keys, or manual browsing of the Polymarket website. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Market Search & Discovery: Search events and markets via the Gamma API, or list trending events sorted by volume. - Real-Time Pricing & Orderbooks: Fetch current prices, midpoints, spreads, and full orderbooks from the CLOB API using clobTokenIds. - Price History & Trades: Retrieve historical price charts by conditionId and recent trade data from the Data API. - Use Case: A user asks "What are the odds of a rate cut this year?" The skill searches Polymarket, parses the double-encoded outcomePrices field, and returns "Yes: 65.2%, No: 34.8%" with trading volume. ## Quick Start Ask the agent to search Polymarket for a topic, for example: "What are the current Polymarket odds on the next US presidential election winner?"

Frequently Asked Questions about polymarket

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I check Polymarket odds for an event?▼

Search Polymarket using the Gamma API public-search endpoint with your query, then read the outcomePrices field from the returned markets. Prices map directly to probabilities, so 0.65 means the market implies a 65% chance.

How do I get Polymarket price history for a market?▼

Use the CLOB API prices-history endpoint with the market's conditionId, an interval such as 1w or 1m, and a fidelity value for data point count. The response returns timestamp-price pairs you can chart or analyze.

Does the Polymarket API require authentication or an API key?▼

No. All three public APIs—Gamma, CLOB, and Data—are read-only REST endpoints that return JSON without any authentication. Rate limits are generous, around 1,000 to 9,000 requests per 10 seconds depending on the API.

Can I place trades on Polymarket with this skill?▼

No. This skill is strictly read-only and cannot place trades. Trading on Polymarket requires wallet-based crypto authentication using EIP-712 signatures, which is outside the scope of these public data endpoints.

Why does Polymarket price history return empty for some markets?▼

Very new markets may have no recorded price history yet, so the prices-history endpoint returns an empty array. Check the market's creation date and try again after trading activity has accumulated.
