What problem does it solve?

PAW requires safe, auditable transitions between workflow activities. The paw-transition skill acts as a gate to validate the current state, enforce session policies at stage boundaries, verify required artifacts exist, and decide the next activity to enqueue.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Enforces session policy per stage or continuous flow during transitions.
  • Validates target branches and required artifacts (e.g., WorkflowContext.md, ImplementationPlan.md) before progression.
  • Determines and queues the next activity using the Mandatory Transitions table.
  • Performs Candidate Promotion checks for final PR and reports unresolved candidates for human review.
  • Produces a structured TRANSITION RESULT payload for the orchestrator, including session_action, pause_at_milestone, preflight, and next_activity details.
