What problem does it solve?
OASIS provides a parsimonious, lab-light severity score for ICU patients, enabling quicker risk stratification and mortality estimation without requiring extensive lab data.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Single-score calculation: combines age, pre-ICU LOS, GCS, heart rate, mean arterial pressure, respiration rate, temperature, urine output, mechanical ventilation, and elective surgery to produce an OASIS score and mortality probability.
- Real-world scenarios: enable rapid triage on admission, cohort comparison, or cross-dataset analytics across datasets (e.g., MIMIC-derived ICU cohorts).
- Implementation details: score components are computed from first-day vitals and administrative data, with non-linear pre-ICU LOS scoring and explicit handling of missing data.
Quick Start
Run oasis.sql against your Mimic-derived ICU data to compute oasis and oasis_prob for each stay.
