System Documentation

What problem does it solve?

This Skill ensures that all important discussions, decisions, and progress related to blog posts or newsletters are meticulously recorded. It prevents loss of context, clarifies past choices, and streamlines collaboration by maintaining a continuous, chronological record in a dedicated discussion.md file, saving you from forgotten details and miscommunications.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Context Preservation: Records key points, questions, and decisions from conversations, ensuring all stakeholders understand the "why."
  • Chronological Tracking: Organizes notes with clear date headers for easy review and understanding of the content's evolution.
  • Decision Documentation: Captures the rationale behind choices, including alternative approaches considered and constraints discovered.
  • Use Case: After a brainstorming session for a new blog post, this Skill automatically logs the main ideas, the chosen direction, and any specific requirements, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and future work is informed without manual transcription.

Quick Start

Activate the skill and specify the post folder for the notes

claude use note-taking --post-folder "posts/my-new-article"

Then, provide the discussion content to be recorded

claude record-discussion "We decided to focus on AI ethics, specifically bias in algorithms, for the next post. Key constraint: keep it under 1000 words."

The notes will be appended to posts/my-new-article/discussion.md with a date header.
