SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Before running an asset-value (NPV) screening, engineers need a clean, documented set of economic assumptions—gas and oil prices, discount rate, currency, inflation, and tax regime. This Skill normalizes those inputs and flags inconsistencies such as out-of-band discount rates, unrecognized tax regimes, or nominal terms with zero inflation, so downstream NPV work starts from a sane basis. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Economy-basis assembly: Normalizes prices, discount rate, currency, inflation, and tax regime into a single validated result object. - Sanity checks: Range-checks the discount rate against an indicative 6%-12% public band and validates the tax regime against a small public name set (generic, norwegian-ncs, uk, us, none). - Consistency flags: Raises warnings for zero-revenue inputs or nominal terms with zero inflation, returning an overall ok/watch verdict. - Use Case: An engineer preparing a Norwegian NCS concept screening supplies gas price 0.30 per Sm3, oil price 70 USD/bbl, and an 8% discount rate, and receives a normalized basis with a discount_rate_flag and basis_warning before running the validated NeqSim field-economics workflow. ## Quick Start Ask the agent to assemble and sanity-check an economy basis with a gas price of 0.30 per Sm3, oil price of 70 USD per barrel, an 8 percent discount rate in USD, and the norwegian-ncs tax regime.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I sanity-check economic assumptions before an NPV screening?▼

Create an EconomyBasisModel and call evaluate with gas price, oil price, discount rate, currency, inflation, and tax regime. It returns a normalized basis with a discount_rate_flag, tax_regime_recognized boolean, and an overall ok or watch basis_warning.

What discount rate range does the screening check against?▼

The discount rate is compared against an indicative public band of 6% to 12% by default. Values below the band are flagged low and values above are flagged high; the band is configurable via the typical_discount_range constructor argument.

Which tax regimes are recognized by the economy basis check?▼

The recognized public name set is generic, norwegian-ncs, uk, us, and none. Any other label returns tax_regime_recognized as false and adds a warning flag to the result.

Does this skill require NeqSim or other Python dependencies?▼

No, the screening model is dependency-free and runs on Python 3.10 or later. NeqSim is optional; the result simply reports whether the neqsim package is importable via the neqsim_available field.

Can I use this screening output for real investment decisions?▼

No, it is an educational placeholder with indicative range checks only, not investment guidance. For quantitative evaluation, escalate to the validated NeqSim field-economics workflow or the NeqSim MCP runFieldEconomics tool with qualified commercial review.
