What problem does it solve?
Facilitates end-to-end magnetotelluric data analysis by providing a Python-based workflow to read EDI files, QC data, analyze impedance and phase, generate visualizations, and prepare data for inversion.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Read EDI files and extract MT parameters (Z tensor, impedance, phase, and apparent resistivity) for interpretation.
- Quality control: detect bad data, NaN/Inf values, irregular frequency spacing, and phase tensor indicators of dimensionality.
- Visualization and export: generate MT plots and export data for inversion workflows (ModEM-ready formats) suitable for regional MT surveys. Use Case: Rapid MT data prep from field campaigns for inversion studies.
Quick Start
Run python scripts/mt_analysis.py path/to/file.edi to analyze an MT dataset and generate a summary report.
