What problem does it solve?

This Skill guides agents through managing acquisition session data across VRPC/NAS/BioHPC backends using the MCP tooling. It standardizes preprocessing of sessions (single, by animal, by project, or all), enables safe migration of animals between projects with health checks, and enforces mandatory confirmations for irreversible deletions.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Preprocessing: Preprocess one or many sessions across projects or animals, with workflow validation.
  • Migration: Transfer all sessions for an animal from one project to another, ensuring preprocessed data is present before migration.
  • Deletion with Safety: Delete a session only after explicit user confirmation, with propagation across storage backends and a safety prompt.

Quick Start

  1. Verify MCP servers are running using sl-get mcp for discovery and sl-manage mcp for operations.
  2. Discover sessions using Glob patterns like /root/{project}/**/session_data.yaml.
  3. Preprocess sessions with preprocess_session_tool for each discovered path.
  4. If needed, migrate an animal with migrate_animal_tool, or delete sessions with delete_session_tool after explicit confirmation.
