SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill requires lark-cli, and includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? When working in Feishu/Lark, you often know a person's name or email but need their open_id to send messages or schedule meetings, or you have an open_id and need to look up the person's details. This Skill bridges that gap by resolving identities in both directions and searching for visible bots and agents. ## Core Features & Use Cases - User Search: Find employees by name, email, or phone keyword and get their open_id, department, email, and chat status, with filters for chat history, tenant boundary, and employment status. - Profile Lookup: Reverse-lookup an open_id to retrieve name, department, email, personal status, and signature, or batch-query profiles for multiple users. - Bot & Agent Search: Search bots and agents visible to the current user by keyword, optionally scoped to specific chats, returning bot open_ids. - Use Case: A user says "send a message to 张三". You first run a user search to confirm the correct open_id among same-name candidates, then hand the open_id to the messaging skill. ## Quick Start Ask the assistant to find the Lark open_id for a colleague by name, for example: "Look up 张三's open_id in Lark contacts so I can message him."

Frequently Asked Questions about lark-contact

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I find a Lark user's open_id by name?▼

Use the contact user search command with the person's name as the query, for example lark-cli contact +search-user --query "张三" --as user. The result returns open_id, department, and email so you can confirm the right person before messaging.

How to search for bots or agents in Lark by keyword?▼

Use the bot search command with a keyword, such as lark-cli contact +search-bot --query '会议助手' --as user. It returns bot open_ids, descriptions, and whether each result is an agent, and supports multiple keywords via --queries.

Can I look up a Lark user's profile from an open_id?▼

Yes. With user identity use +search-user --user-ids <id> for richer fields like department and email; with bot identity use +get-user --user-id <id>. You can also batch-query personal status and signatures via user_profiles batch_query.

Why does Lark contact search return permission denied error 41050?▼

Error 41050 means the current identity's visibility scope does not cover the target user or bot. Search, get-user, and bot search can all hit this limit depending on whether you run as user or bot and the tenant's visibility rules.

What are the limitations of Lark contact search?▼

Search does not auto-paginate, so has_more=true means you should refine the keyword. It cannot traverse department trees or list employees by department, and cross-tenant users return empty strings for most business fields.
