What problem does it solve?

This Skill simplifies the setup of a local, multi-node Kubernetes lab environment using Vagrant and VirtualBox, specifically tailored for testing Kubespray deployments, including High Availability configurations.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Automated VM Provisioning: Sets up an admin/load balancer node and multiple Kubernetes nodes (control plane and workers) with Rocky Linux 10.
  • Pre-configured Networking: Configures host-only networking for inter-node communication and NAT for internet access.
  • Essential Tools Installation: Installs HAProxy, NFS, kubectl, k9s, and Helm on the admin node, and prepares K8s nodes with necessary kernel modules and sysctl settings.
  • Use Case: Quickly spin up a realistic, isolated environment to test Kubespray's cluster deployment and HA features without impacting your main network.

Quick Start

Use the kubespray-lab-setup skill to provision a 6-node Vagrant lab environment with an admin-lb node and 5 K8s nodes.
