What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps users find, inspect, and save ad-hoc queries and log or time-series data in Kibana Discover, reducing the friction of manually locating the right data view, time range, and query syntax.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Clarify inputs: Ask which index or data view to use, the desired time range, and whether the user wants a one-off exploration or a saved search.
  • Provisioning guidance: Ensure or create a data view for the target index and provide direct links to the Discover app and related management pages.
  • Query and save workflow: Guide users to build KQL or Lucene queries, select columns and filters, validate results, and save searches for reuse or dashboards.
  • Use cases: ad-hoc log troubleshooting, telemetry exploration, building saved searches for monitoring and dashboards.

Quick Start

Open Discover, choose the appropriate data view and time range, then run a KQL or Lucene query to locate the events you need and save the search if you want to reuse it.
