SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Keyword research often produces overwhelming spreadsheets that never get used. This Skill turns business context into a validated, prioritized content plan with ready-to-write content briefs, so you know exactly what to write first and why. ## Core Features & Use Cases - 8-Phase Research Pipeline: Seed generation, 6 Circles expansion, live SERP validation (autocomplete, People Also Ask, competitor analysis), clustering, pillar validation, prioritization, content mapping, and brief generation. - Brand Memory Integration: Reads positioning, audience, and competitor files to align keywords with your strategy, and detects existing keyword plans to offer refresh instead of rebuild. - DR-Cap and Confidence Labels: Filters out keywords your domain cannot realistically rank for and tags every keyword with a high/medium/estimated confidence tier. - Use Case: Ask what topics your startup blog should cover; the Skill mines autocomplete and PAA data, clusters keywords into pillars, scores them by opportunity, and saves a keyword plan plus content briefs ready for the seo-content skill. ## Quick Start Ask the assistant to run keyword research for your product and build a prioritized content plan with briefs for the top keywords.

Frequently Asked Questions about keyword-research

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I do keyword research without paid SEO tools?▼

Use web search to mine Google autocomplete suggestions, People Also Ask questions, and SERP results for each seed keyword. This Skill runs that process through an 8-phase pipeline, validating clusters with live search data instead of paid volume metrics.

How to group keywords into content pillars?▼

Group keywords by semantic similarity and shared search intent, then identify the broadest term in each group as the pillar. Each pillar must pass four validation tests: search volume, market-centric phrasing, competitive winnability, and proprietary advantage.

What happens if web search is not available during keyword research?▼

The Skill falls back to strategic analysis using the 6 Circles expansion method and brand context only. Volume and difficulty fields are marked unknown, and the output is labeled as estimated rather than validated against live SERP data.

Can I update an existing keyword plan instead of starting over?▼

Yes. If brand/keyword-plan.md already exists, the Skill enters refresh mode and offers options to re-run SERP data, add new topic areas, re-prioritize clusters, or generate briefs. Changes are shown as a diff and saved only after confirmation.

What are the limitations of this keyword research approach?▼

It does not provide exact search volume numbers, rank tracking, technical SEO audits, or link building strategy. Output is a prioritized plan with content briefs; actual article writing is handed off to a separate content skill.
