What problem does it solve?

The AutomateLinux daemon enables automated keyboard input by simulating keystrokes and typing strings, supporting repeatable automation and testing workflows on Linux desktops.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Simulate strings as if typed on a real keyboard using the AutomateLinux daemon.
  • Emit raw input events (EV codes) to replicate key presses and releases.
  • Leverage InputMapper to route events to /dev/uinput for virtual device emulation and automation.

Quick Start

Use the command d simulateInput --string "Hello World" to type a string, or d simulateInput --type 1 --code 30 --value 1 to press and d simulateInput --type 1 --code 30 --value 0 to release.
