What problem does it solve?

This Skill removes the manual steps of locating an issue file, editing its metadata, and committing the change by automating assignment to the current git user and logging the action in the issue comments.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Parses and zero-pads numeric issue IDs to a four-digit format to match repository conventions.
  • Verifies the existence of .issues/{id}.toml, reads and updates the assigned_to field, appends a dated comments entry, and stages the file with git.
  • Use Case: Quickly assign a todo or bug tracked as a TOML file to the developer currently configured in git, and record the assignment in the issue history.
