SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Sessions started outside the AI Agents Orchestrator dashboard (for example via claude --resume) are invisible to it: they have no notes.md, no category folder, and no entry in active-sessions.json, so the dashboard cannot track their status or preserve their context. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Session adoption: Resolves the current terminal's session ID by walking the process ancestry against ~/.claude/sessions/*.json, then binds it to a notes.md under the chosen category folder. - Collision guard: Detects when the terminal is already bound to a different workspace and asks before re-binding, preventing silent detachment of active sessions. - Registry integration: Writes a structured notes.md (goal, branch, decisions, session history) and registers the session in ~/.claude/active-sessions.json so the dashboard shows it as Running. - Use Case: After resuming an old conversation with claude --resume <id>, run /import-session FEAT payment-retry to bring that session under dashboard management without creating a fresh workspace or touching git. ## Quick Start Ask the assistant to run /import-session with a category and short name, for example: import this current session into the FEAT category as payment-retry.

FAQPage Schema
How do I import an existing Claude Code session into the dashboard?▼

Run /import-session with a category and optional name, such as /import-session FEAT payment-retry, inside the resumed session. It writes a notes.md under the category folder and registers the session in ~/.claude/active-sessions.json so the dashboard tracks it.

What is the difference between /import-session and /start-session?▼

/import-session binds the session you are already running, typically after claude --resume, without creating a fresh notes folder or touching git. /start-session creates a new workspace and session from scratch.

Why does /import-session fail to resolve the session ID?▼

The skill resolves the session ID by matching ancestor process IDs against files in ~/.claude/sessions/. If it finds nothing, the command is not running inside a claude process, and it aborts with an error message.

What happens if the terminal is already registered to another session?▼

A collision guard detects the existing binding and asks before proceeding. You can keep the existing binding (the default, which writes nothing) or explicitly re-bind the terminal, which detaches the old session from the active list.

Can /import-session run in plan mode?▼

No. The skill writes files to disk, so it stops immediately if plan mode is active and asks you to switch to auto mode before re-running the command.
