SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) and references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? IELTS learners often memorize word lists passively and forget them quickly. This Skill runs structured vocabulary practice using active recall, rotating card modes, and spaced review so words are actually retained, and produces a printable weekly vocabulary report. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Active Recall Card Sessions: One card at a time, rotating between English-to-Chinese recognition, Chinese-to-English production, cloze, collocation, and IELTS sentence writing, with results recorded as good, hard, or again. - Wordbook and Weak-Word Practice: Practice from built-in IELTS wordbooks (core, listening, reading), a personal vocabulary book, or weak words extracted from completed reading/listening practice sessions via the IELTS Buddy MCP service. - Weekly Vocabulary Sheet: Generates and validates a DOCX weekly review sheet with progress stats, word tables, weak words, due reviews, and practice prompts. - Use Case: After finishing an IELTS reading practice, ask the coach to drill you on the vocabulary from your incorrect answers, then at the end of the week generate a printable review sheet of everything you studied. ## Quick Start Ask the coach to start a round of IELTS core vocabulary practice with ten cards using active recall.

Frequently Asked Questions about ielts-vocabulary-coach

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I practice IELTS vocabulary with active recall?▼

Start a session by choosing a source: a built-in wordbook (core, listening, reading), your personal vocabulary book, or weak words from recent practice. The coach shows one card at a time, asks for your answer before revealing the meaning, and records each result as good, hard, or again.

How do I review vocabulary from my IELTS practice mistakes?▼

After completing a reading or listening practice session, ask to collect the vocabulary from your incorrect answers. The coach reads the session review via the IELTS Buddy MCP service, selects 3-5 transferable words, and drills you on them before optionally saving them to your personal vocabulary book.

Does this vocabulary coach work without the IELTS Buddy MCP service?▼

Yes, but with reduced capability. Without MCP you can still practice with word lists you provide directly, and a local data fallback script can download offline wordbooks. Cloud progress sync, built-in wordbook progress, and review write-back require the MCP connection.

Can I import or export my vocabulary list as JSON or CSV?▼

Yes, when you explicitly request it, the coach can import up to 500 entries from JSON or CSV into your personal vocabulary book, or export your collection for backup. Only word content is transferred; review progress and spaced repetition state are never migrated.

How do I create a printable weekly vocabulary review sheet?▼

Ask for a weekly vocabulary review or study report. The coach reads your wordbook progress, builds a plan with stats, weak words, and due reviews, then generates and validates a DOCX file and returns its absolute path.
