Hacker News research and content curation often require manually scanning the site for top posts. This skill automates fetching top posts via the Algolia-powered Hacker News search interface and returns structured data including titles, points, comments, and URLs.

  • Configurable date range and post type filters to retrieve Show HN, Launch HN, Ask HN, or stories.
  • Structured data extraction of title, URL, points, and comments, plus the standard HN discussion URL format.
  • Fallback workflow: if last 24h yields no Launch HN results, automatically expand to past week for broader coverage.
