SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Content optimized for traditional SEO often fails to get cited by AI systems like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. This Skill analyzes web pages to measure how likely AI models are to extract and cite passages, then provides concrete rewrite guidance. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Citability Scoring (0-100): Evaluates content across five weighted categories: answer block quality, passage self-containment, structural readability, statistical density, and uniqueness. - Block-Level Analysis: Segments pages by headings and scores each content block, identifying the strongest and weakest sections. - Rewrite Suggestions: Generates specific answer-first rewrites, statistic recommendations, and structural fixes for low-scoring blocks, outputting a GEO-CITABILITY-SCORE.md report. - Use Case: A content marketer runs the Skill on a blog post that ranks well on Google but never appears in AI answers, receives a 54/100 score, and rewrites the three weakest sections using the suggested definition patterns and statistics. ## Quick Start Ask the AI to analyze the citability of a specific URL, for example: score https://example.com/blog/post for AI citability and suggest rewrites.

FAQPage Schema
How do I check if my content will be cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity?▼

Run the citability analysis on your page URL. The Skill fetches the content, segments it into blocks, and scores each block on answer quality, self-containment, structure, statistics, and uniqueness, producing an overall 0-100 citability score.

What makes content more likely to be cited by AI search engines?▼

AI systems prefer passages of 134-167 words that are self-contained, open with a direct answer or definition pattern, and include specific statistics or named sources. Question-based headings, short paragraphs, and tables also improve extractability.

How is the citability score calculated?▼

The score is a weighted average of five categories: answer block quality (30%), passage self-containment (25%), structural readability (20%), statistical density (15%), and uniqueness (10%). Each content block is scored individually, then averaged for the page-level score.

Does the citability analysis work on any web page URL?▼

Yes, the Skill uses WebFetch to retrieve any publicly accessible URL and extracts the main content area, excluding navigation, footers, and sidebars. Pages that block fetching or require authentication cannot be analyzed.

What output does the citability analysis produce?▼

It generates a GEO-CITABILITY-SCORE.md file containing the overall score, a category breakdown table, the strongest and weakest content blocks, specific rewrite suggestions for low-scoring sections, and quick-win recommendations with expected score lifts.
