What problem does it solve?

GemGIS bridges the gap between GIS data and GemPy modeling by providing a streamlined workflow to extract XYZ coordinates, orientations, and model extents from standard geospatial sources, enabling seamless GemPy input preparation.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Extract XYZ coordinates from vector data (contacts, measurements) with optional DEM-based elevations.
  • Clip and reproject data to a consistent CRS and extent for GemPy workflows.
  • Prepare interfaces and orientations CSVs for GemPy models, including formation and dip/azimuth attributes.
  • Export ready datasets for GemPy, plus optional references to guide post-processing and validation.

Quick Start

Load your GIS inputs (contacts.shp, orientations.shp), a DEM, and an optional extent, then run the script to output GemPy-ready interfaces.csv and orientations.csv.
