SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Over time, a memory store accumulates outdated, incorrect, or sensitive entries that degrade recall quality. This Skill provides a safe, confirmation-gated workflow to find and permanently remove specific memories from Mem0 without accidental data loss. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Query-Based Deletion: Search memories by natural language query, review a numbered list of matches, and select which ones to delete. - Direct ID Deletion: Remove a specific memory when you already know its memory ID. - Mandatory Confirmation: Every deletion requires explicit user approval, preventing destructive mistakes. - Use Case: After a project ends, run a search for "project alpha deadlines", review the matching memories, and delete the outdated ones to keep the agent's memory clean. ## Quick Start Ask the agent to forget memories matching a topic, for example: forget all memories about my old travel plans.

Frequently Asked Questions about forget

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I delete a memory in Mem0?▼

Provide a search query or a memory ID. The skill searches with the mem0_memory tool, shows matching memories with short IDs, asks for confirmation, then calls the delete action for each confirmed memory.

How do I remove outdated or incorrect agent memories?▼

Run a natural language search describing the outdated information, review the numbered list of matches, and reply with the numbers to delete, 'all', or 'cancel'. Deletion only happens after your confirmation.

Can I delete a Mem0 memory by its ID?▼

Yes. Pass the memory ID directly instead of a search query. The skill looks up the memory, shows a preview of its content and creation date, and asks for a yes/no confirmation before deleting.

Does memory deletion happen without confirmation?▼

No. The skill never deletes without explicit confirmation. For search results you must enter item numbers, 'all', or 'cancel'; for a single ID you must answer a y/N prompt, since deletion is destructive.

What happens if some memory deletions fail?▼

The skill reports how many memories were deleted and lists any deletions that failed along with the reasons, so you can retry or investigate the failing memory IDs individually.
