Check the install count, preferring skills with over 1K installs, and verify the source reputation. Skills from official sources like vercel-labs, anthropics, or microsoft are more reliable, and repositories with under 100 GitHub stars warrant caution.
The agent can still help with the task directly using its general capabilities. If it is a recurring need, you can create your own skill by running npx skills init followed by your skill name.
