What problem does it solve?

This Skill enables you to locate official Dutch regulations (national and local) from government databases, retrieve their texts, and convert them into a clean, YAML-based format for automated processing.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Search national and local regulations from BWB and CVDR using title, type, or identifiers
  • Download authoritative XML (WTI and Toestand) and preserve original structure
  • Convert to regelrecht YAML with text-only content, preserving articles and formatting
  • Save outputs in a tidy folder structure regulation/nl/{layer}/{law_id}/{date}.yaml for easy versioning

Quick Start

Use the Dutch Law Downloader to search for a regulation by name, select a result, and run the download to generate a YAML file under regulation/nl/. The tool will preserve exact text formatting and provide results ready for interpretation.
