SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Getting a local project live on the internet involves many decisions: checking git remotes, verifying CLI authentication, linking projects to teams, and choosing between git-push and direct CLI deploys. This Skill automates that decision flow and handles fallback paths for sandboxed environments where authentication is not possible. ## Core Features & Use Cases - State-aware deployment: Inspects git remotes, .vercel/ link files, and CLI authentication to pick the right deploy method (git push, vercel deploy, or link-then-deploy). - Team and scope handling: Lists available Vercel teams and applies the correct --scope flag across all CLI commands. - No-auth fallback scripts: Ships deploy.sh and deploy-codex.sh that package a project, auto-detect the framework from package.json, upload it to a claimable deploy endpoint, and return preview and claim URLs. - Use Case: You finish a Next.js app in a sandboxed environment with no Vercel credentials. The Skill runs the fallback script, which detects Next.js, packages the project excluding node_modules and .env, and returns a live preview URL plus a claim URL to transfer ownership. ## Quick Start Deploy my current project to Vercel and give me the preview link.

Frequently Asked Questions about deploy-to-vercel

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I deploy my app to Vercel from the command line?▼

Run vercel deploy with the -y and --no-wait flags to deploy the current directory without blocking on the build. If the project is linked to a git remote, committing and pushing triggers an automatic deployment instead.

How do I deploy to Vercel without logging in?▼

Use the included deploy.sh or deploy-codex.sh fallback scripts, which require no authentication. They package your project, upload it to a claimable deploy endpoint, and return a preview URL plus a claim URL to transfer the deployment to your Vercel account.

How do I deploy to a specific Vercel team?▼

List available teams with vercel teams list --format json, then pass the chosen team slug via the --scope flag on vercel deploy, vercel link, and vercel inspect commands. Already-linked projects use the orgId stored in .vercel/project.json or .vercel/repo.json.

Does the deploy script support frameworks other than Next.js?▼

Yes, the scripts detect over 40 frameworks from package.json dependencies, including Remix, Astro, SvelteKit, Nuxt, Angular, Vite, Express, Fastify, and Hono. Static HTML projects without package.json are also supported, with a single HTML file renamed to index.html.

Why does Vercel deployment fail in a sandboxed environment?▼

Sandboxes often block network egress or prevent vercel login from completing. On claude.ai, add *.vercel.com to allowed domains in capability settings; in Codex, rerun the deploy command with escalated network permissions or use the no-auth fallback script.
