SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Answering broad or complex questions with a single web search yields shallow, unverified results. This Skill decomposes a topic into independent subtopics, dispatches parallel research agents, and synthesizes cross-referenced findings into a single cited report saved to disk. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Topic Decomposition with Approval Gate: Breaks a research question into 3-7 independent subtopics and requires explicit user approval before dispatching researchers. - Parallel Multi-Agent Research: Launches one pipeline-web-researcher agent per subtopic, each consulting 20+ pages across multiple search queries with source tracking and confidence ratings. - Synthesized Report: Cross-references findings, surfaces contradictions and gaps, and writes a structured report with executive summary, methodology, and deduplicated sources to .mz/research/. - Use Case: Ask "what is the state of WebAssembly in 2026" and receive a saved markdown report covering runtime performance, language support, browser adoption, and production usage with cited sources. ## Quick Start Ask the assistant to run deep research on a topic such as "research the current state of edge computing platforms" and approve the proposed decomposition when prompted.

FAQPage Schema
How do I run deep multi-source research on a topic?▼

Invoke the skill with a research topic as the argument, for example "research the state of WebAssembly". It decomposes the topic into 3-7 subtopics, asks for your approval, then dispatches parallel research agents and writes a cited report to .mz/research/.

How many sources does a deep research report consult?▼

Each dispatched researcher agent searches at least 20 web pages, targeting up to 100 when material allows, using at least 5 distinct search queries. With 3-7 subtopics, a full report typically aggregates well over a hundred consulted pages.

When should I not use deep research?▼

Skip it for one-line factual answers, where a plain web search suffices, and for narrow topics a single research agent can handle. It is also not meant for code review or audits, which have dedicated commands.

Where is the deep research report saved?▼

The final report is written to the .mz/research/ directory using the naming convention <YYYY_MM_DD>_research_<slugified_topic>.md, with version suffixes appended on same-day collisions. Task state is tracked separately under .mz/task/.

What happens if a research agent returns nothing?▼

The subtopic is retried once with a clarified prompt. If it still returns nothing, the gap is recorded in the task state file and the user is asked how to proceed before the final report is written.
