What problem does it solve?
Guides teams to create and organize custom sub-agents in local repos, ensuring discoverability, maintainability, and compatibility with GitHub Copilot and Claude in VS Code.
Core Features & Use Cases
- One folder per sub-agent under skills/custom-sub-agents to keep artifacts isolated.
- Documentation requirements: each sub-agent must include README.md describing purpose, usage, and configuration, plus an entry file named agent.js/agent.py/agent.ts, etc., and a references guide entry.
- Central references: all sub-agents listed in references/CUSTOM_SUB_AGENTS_GUIDE.md with summaries and links.
- Compatibility and testing: ensures Copilot/Claude compatibility and provides testing scaffolding and versioning notes.
- Modular integration: enables combining sub-agents with skills for modular workflows.
Quick Start
Create a new sub-agent under skills/custom-sub-agents following the folder conventions and update the references guide.
