What problem does it solve?
Provides a lightweight, no-API-key way to get a quick macro risk pulse by monitoring Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold, silver, and USD/CNY exchange rates so users can check market conditions when richer data feeds are unavailable.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Free public data sources: Fetches prices from CoinGecko, ExchangeRate API, GoldAPI demo endpoint, and falls back to Yahoo Finance when needed.
- CLI helper with caching and anchors: Includes a shell helper that caches results in /tmp, supports manual metal anchor updates, and a refresh command to force reloads.
- Use Case: Run the script to build a small dashboard for intraday monitoring, integration in lightweight reporting pipelines, or as a fallback data source for alerts.
