What problem does it solve?

This skill helps you quickly create organized scratch notes in the .agents/scratches directory, reducing friction for ideas, explorations, and temporary draft content.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Automatic frontmatter: Generates a frontmatter block with the current date and a properly formatted title.
  • Unique ID + slug naming: Produces a unique three-word ID and saves files as {id}-{slug}.md.
  • Flexible content input: Accepts direct content, multi-line heredoc, or piped input to populate the scratch file.
  • Use Case: Capture quick ideas during conversations and store them for later reference without clutter.

Quick Start

To create a scratch file, run bun scripts/create-scratch.ts "<slug>" "<Your scratch content here>" Option 2: Multi-line Content: bun scripts/create-scratch.ts "<slug>" << HEREDOC Your multi-line scratch content HEREDOC Option 3: Pipe Content: echo "Your content" | bun scripts/create-scratch.ts "<slug>"
