What caveman modes are available?▼

Six modes exist: lite, full (default), ultra, wenyan-lite, wenyan, and wenyan-ultra. Each applies progressively stronger compression, with the wenyan variants producing Classical Chinese output.

How do I turn off caveman mode?▼

Say "stop caveman" or "normal mode" to deactivate. You can resume at any time by invoking /caveman again.

How do I change the default caveman mode?▼

Set the CAVEMAN_DEFAULT_MODE environment variable, which takes highest priority, or edit ~/.config/caveman/config.json with a defaultMode key. Setting it to "off" disables auto-activation on session start.

Does caveman-help change the active mode?▼

No. It is a one-shot display that never flips the active mode, writes flag files, or persists anything. It only prints the reference card.
