What problem does it solve?

This Skill automates the complex and time-consuming process of calculating material quantities (like volume, area, weight, and length) for Building Information Modeling (BIM) elements directly within Blender, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Comprehensive Quantity Calculation: Supports linear, area, volume, and weight quantities for various BIM elements (walls, slabs, columns, etc.).
  • Gross vs. Net Quantities: Accurately calculates quantities considering openings (doors, windows) for precise material and cost estimation.
  • Workflow Automation: Integrates with Bonsai's operator system for batch processing and single-item calculations.
  • Use Case: Automatically calculate the net volume and surface area for all walls in a BIM model, including subtractions for doors and windows, to provide accurate material takeoffs for cost estimation.

Quick Start

Run the batch quantity takeoff for all wall elements using the 'Qto_WallBaseQuantities' rule.
