SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Marketing copy fails when it is written for everyone instead of a specific buyer. This Skill builds a structured audience profile with personas, pain points, objections, and watering holes so every downstream marketing skill writes for a real person. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Three Research Approaches: Quick Profile (5 questions, zero context), Persona Build (demographics, psychographics, jobs-to-be-done), and Community Mining (web research into where the audience gathers). - Structured Output: Writes a brand/audience.md file with archetype cards, persona blocks, language mines, and a watering hole map that other skills consume. - Iteration Detection: Detects an existing audience.md and offers refine, extend, deep-dive, or rebuild modes instead of starting over. - Use Case: Before writing landing page copy, run this Skill to produce personas with real customer language, then let downstream copywriting skills quote those language mines directly. ## Quick Start Ask the agent to build an audience profile for your product using the audience-research skill, answering its five intake questions.

FAQPage Schema
How do I create a buyer persona for my product?▼

Answer five intake questions about your product, users, problem, alternatives, and price point. The skill generates a working persona with demographics, psychographics, jobs-to-be-done, pain points, and objections, then writes it to brand/audience.md.

How to find where my target audience hangs out online?▼

Use the Community Mining approach, which searches for relevant subreddits, forums, newsletters, podcasts, and social platforms using web search or Exa. Results are mapped into a watering holes section covering communities, content sources, platforms, and events.

Does audience research work without web search access?▼

Yes. Without Exa or web search, the skill operates at L0-L2 levels using your answers and existing brand files. You still get structured personas, but watering holes and customer quotes will not be verified against real sources.

What is the jobs-to-be-done framework in persona building?▼

Jobs-to-be-done maps the functional, emotional, and social jobs a customer hires your product to do, plus the four forces of progress: push, pull, anxiety, and habit. The references/jtbd-framework.md file provides the full mapping template.

Can I update an existing audience profile instead of rebuilding?▼

Yes. If brand/audience.md already exists, the skill enters update mode and offers four options: refine existing personas with fresh research, add a new segment, deep-dive into watering holes, or rebuild from scratch.
