SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve? Turning a feature idea into an actionable implementation plan requires codebase exploration, task breakdown, and coordination of git branches — this Skill automates that entire planning workflow. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Two planning modes: Fast mode produces a quick single plan file, while Full mode generates a richer plan with preference questions, optional git branch or worktree creation, and commit checkpoints. - Codebase-aware task generation: Launches parallel Explore subagents to map affected modules, existing patterns, and integration points before creating ordered tasks with dependencies and logging requirements. - Handoff and roadmap integration: Syncs plan status with a Handoff task system via MCP tools and links plans to roadmap milestones when a roadmap artifact exists. - Use Case: A developer says "plan full Add user authentication with OAuth" and receives a branch-scoped plan file with phased tasks, commit checkpoints, and settings ready for implementation. ## Quick Start Ask the assistant to plan a new feature, for example by saying "plan full add Stripe checkout with webhook handling".

FAQPage Schema
How do I create an implementation plan for a new feature?▼

Invoke the plan command with a mode and description, such as fast for a quick single-file plan or full for a richer plan with preference questions. Full mode can also create a git branch or worktree when git settings allow it.

What is the difference between fast and full planning mode?▼

Fast mode asks minimal questions and saves one plan file with no branch creation. Full mode asks about tests, logging, docs, and roadmap linkage, then optionally creates a git branch or parallel worktree before generating the plan.

Can I run feature development in a parallel git worktree?▼

Yes, pass the --parallel flag in full mode when git is enabled and branch creation is allowed. The skill creates a worktree, copies context files into it, and automatically proceeds to implementation.

Does the planning skill work without a git repository?▼

Yes, when git is disabled or the directory is not a git work tree, it skips all branch and worktree commands. Full-mode plans are saved under the configured plans directory using a slug filename instead.

How do I list or clean up active worktrees?▼

Use the --list flag to show all active worktrees and their plan status, or --cleanup with a branch name to remove a worktree and optionally delete the branch. Both subcommands stop immediately after executing.
