What problem does it solve?

Keeps a durable, auditable log of agent activity by recording session starts, notable changes, and session ends in an append-only ledger stored as per-day JSONL entries under META_LEDGER_ROOT.

  • Append current session events with ag-ledger append-current and manual messages with ag-ledger append.
  • Query and filter entries by session, workspace, or time range via ag-ledger filter.
  • Data layout and storage: per-day ledger files named ledger-YYYY-MM-DD.md under $META_LEDGER_ROOT/data.

Quick Start

Run ag-ledger init to install or update AGENTS.md guidance, then log your first session with ag-ledger append-current "session start: <what you plan to do>".
