Fable 5 supports full red team campaign phases: pre-engagement scoping, reconnaissance and attack surface mapping, CVE research and payload crafting, initial access and credential spraying, RCE verification and privilege escalation, persistence via webshells and C2 implants, credential harvesting and lateral movement, defense evasion and anti-forensics, and final report compilation.

The skills target red team operators and penetration testers conducting authorized security assessments. The operator supplies a target domain, IP, or URL, and invokes phases by name or through campaign state, with the framework guiding reconnaissance through exploitation, post-exploitation, evasion, and reporting.

The fable-5-startup skill loads core identity files, runs environment checks, and displays campaign status on session start or when the operator invokes 'Fable5'. Pre-engagement then creates the campaign directory structure and state files, and each subsequent phase activates via keywords or campaign state.

Phase skills declare allowed-tools including Read, Write, Edit, Bash, Grep, Glob, Agent, WebSearch, and WebFetch. The startup and pre-engagement skills use a reduced set (Read, Bash, plus Write/Edit/Grep/Glob for setup), reflecting their initialization-only role before active assessment phases begin.
